Huntly Hibernians.
A special meeting of the Huntly Hibernian Lodge was held on Tuesday night, Bro. Win. Darby presiding. Mr A. Woiward was unanimously appointed secretary, the chairman, while recognising the services of Mr T. Molloy, congratulating Mr Woiward on his appointment, and stating that, while performing the duties of the office efficiently and well, lie would do his utmost to further the progress of the Society. A somewhat long and animated discussion took place on the question of asking Ngaruawahia to join forces with Hui.tly, in order to have one strong branch, instead of two comparatively small ones. The Rev. Father Edge, Bros. Robertson, McLeod, and Woiward took part, and pointed out that the Ngaruawahia people would find the distance from Huntly too great to ensure good attendance. The meeting decided to ask NgaruaWiUiia to start a branch of the order there, and to guaranteMfeevery help and assistance St. Anthony’s lodge.
