Football.
The annual general meeting of the members of the Huntly Rovers Football Club (Northern Union) was held during the week, Mr M. J.»Devitt presiding over a good attendance. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £9 4s 6d in favour of the club, -while the report, after reciting the operations for the year, stated that, although Taupiri had won the caps offerred by the Lower Waikato League, Huntly had secured the Draffin Cup. The report and balance sheet -were adopted as read. Office-bearers for the current year were elected as follow : —Patrons: The Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey, Messrs R. F. Bollard, M. P., and E. W. Allison; President : Mr W. J. Ralph; Vice-Presidents :—Messrs W. H. Bailey, G. Calder, M. J. Devitt, Jas. Elliot, G. Edwards, A. Gall. S. Gleeson, L. B. Harris, junr., J. B. Harris, F. Littleproud, C. Maxwell, A. McKinnon, L. W. Morgan, B. Powell, G. Shaw and D. Suttie; Delegates to the Lower Waikato League, Messrs M. J. Devitt, R. Gleeson, and H Peckham, junr.; Managing Committee, Messrs H. Burt, R. Gleeson. A. Peckham, T. Pawson, A. Rayner, W. Rayner, and the secretary; Secretary, Mr H. Peckham. junr. It was decided to appoint a selection committee later on. The annual subscription remained at last year’s rate, while it was resolved to open the season on the 4th inst.
