A meeting of those who have been connected with the Huntiy Rowing Club since its inception in 1908 was held in the supper room of the King's Hall on Tuesday evening, Mr F. Littleproud presiding over an attendance of twelve. The chairman, after expressing bis regret that the club was practically defunct, stated that [the present meeting was called in order to ascertain whether interest in the club could not be revived, or, if that were impossible, to decide what should be done with the club's property. The boats were lying idle, while the condition of the shed owing to disuse, was not improving. He outlined the legal advise given him by liis adviser, which was to the effect that the members of the club had the power, if they desired to wind up the affairs of the club, and to dispose of the property in whatever manner they thought fit. Several speakers, having expressed their regret at the demise of the club, were not at all sanguine that interest in the club could be resuscitated, and a motion to the effect that
affairs be wound up, and the proceeds of the sale of the property be divided between the Public Library, the Rod and Gun Club and the football clubs, was carried. A Committee, consisting of Messrs F. Littleproud, W, Speirs and J. Young, was set up with full power to dispose of j the property.
