Mr and Mrs Kay, who have boon resident of i'aupiri for some years lu.ve left us to take up their residence at Frankton, Mr Kay having received an apP liniment as inspector with the n.Z. Dairy Association. They . i;I be greatly missed by numerous frionds in Taupiri, and their roa ly help in any good cause will not bo forgotten. We are anxiously awaiting the -uppleinentary estimates being hr * i ;ht down, as the Postmasteri . rR ls, has given us a promise that a sum ;'*r to • erection of a post office in Taupiri will be placed thereon. Too thunks of the residents are du * t > the committee elected to engineer the petition, etc., particuiarly t > the chairman, Mr W* L veil, and the secretary, Mr R. L. Th mas, The IN oi them Timber Co’s. - r ly, although at one time it was Fared that the “strike” might spread its influence and cl se down the works. Work will shortly be started on the Orini-Taupiri Road. The c >ntracts for breaking out metal, carting, and forming the road have been let.*
