St. Paul’s Church.
SUCCESSFUL SOCIAL. A - kil, the proceeds of which ire to be devoted to the Parish Hill Fund, was held in the diiK‘i> l nion Hall on Tuesday evening last. The social was well attended and a m »>t enjoyable time spent by all present. bongs were very acceptably rendered by Mrs T. Black, Miss Jury.the Vicar and Mr B. Kinson, t last named being most deservedly encored. The floor was in remarkably - 1 condition, —almost too good ; ■ o;;u of the dancers, so that >re (pert on the enju\ themselves to the full, \v . 1 >se who preferred a quiet gi;:oe of bridge were also well catered for. Light refreshments were provide l by Ladies’ Guild, the members of which deserve the best thanks of those who attends t iu-se functions, for their efficient oi l unadvertised efforts to cater for the inner man. The music, as supplied by Mr Webster, was all that could be do -ired.and contributedvery much t■» the success of the social ; for there can be no doubt that the quality of the music at these ifictions has much to do with their success. The members of the committee wi: - had the management of the I ur are t > he congratulated 011 result of their efforts, and it is to he hoped that when the socials are started again next year, the same efficient management will bo in evidence.
