No corns could he found; T and the colonel pocketed his e, “fiver ” cheerfully. ;o Hence, when the two colonels n met again a day later, he told l- the young officer’s old commang, der all about what had happened d “ Good heavens ! ” exclaimed the valiant warrior. “ And he :h bet me twenty pounds that he’d ie see your feet bare before he ig had been in your regiment a week. ”
