Train Service.
DEPUTATION TO MINISTER At the request of the Town Board and the Chamber of Commerce Mr J. P. Bailey on Wednesday waited upon the Minister of Railway' (Hon. W. If. Ilerries) and in forcible terms explained how inadequate for prevailing conditions the present railway service was. and asked that a more efficient service be inaugurated. “ Sixteen years ago the service was as good as it is to-day", said Mr Bailey. What was suitable then was inadequate today owing to the great growth of the town and the expansion of the district He asked for a service that would permit resident! in Huntly to make the return journey in one day with reasonable time for the transaction of business in the city. At present there was only an interval of two hours between the arrival of the first train from Huntly and the departure of the return train. Mr Herrif said lie would consult the traffic manager with a view of devising some means of meeting the needs of the milling town. Mr Bailey also brought before the notice of the Minister several other matters connected jjrith the welfare and progress of particulars of which -have not yet come to hand.
