Huntly Road Board
The usual monthly meeting of the Huntly Road Board was held on Saturday, 21st inst., when there were present Messrs J. P. Hailey (chairman). Angus McKinnon, R. i‘. Hill and the clerk (Mr F. Harris). The minutes of the previous gravelling at Matehiuu luui commenced, and that the metalling between the Big Swamp and Foote’s Swamp would he started immediate!v after the holidays. The chairman tendered a hearty welcome to the new mem(Mr R. T. Hill) who suitably acknowledged the kindly remarks. The dilatoiiness of the now Government u rei-poct to-the forwarding of grants as passed in the estimates was the theme of some adverse comment and criticism, in that the delay in forwarding Mich had the effect of petti -lY till tho vir. c'rTvw,.rk which >.M;dd he done moph exand economically while the weather was good. The clerk was instructed to ask . that the various moneys be forwarded without any undue delay. Accounts totalling £45 6s *• £2B 17s fid on the loan account were passed for payment. With the interchange of the season’s greetings the last meeting of 1912 caino to an end.
