DANNEVIRKE, December 29
A blue checker pigeon, faring a rubber 'clock ring,, with'the initials “C.F.C., 2930,” walked in to a local shop this afternoon in an exhausted state. Attached to the leg of the biid was the following message:—“Stranded. Wireless broke. Wire disconnected. Please send help, or will perish. Snowed in.'’ Tlw message is signed “Bob. The local police are in doubt as to whether the message is a genuine one or a hoax, or whether Uamnvirke was intended as the destination of die bird. Nobody is reported here as missing.
The'weather has been very bois terms. There has been a. clay’s heavy now on the Rnahine ranges.
