MANCHUKNO REGIME

IMPORTANT EVENTS NEXT YEAR

i United Press Association—By Electrl* Telegraph—Copyright.)

PEKING', December 27

March 1, 1934, is likely to be a red letter occasion in the annals of Manchukuo. Three important events ai'e scheduled for that date, namely, the enthronement of Puyi as Emperor; the promulgation of a non-archical constitution, similar to Japan’s; and the conclusion of a new treaty, further strengthening the ties between Manchukuo and Japan. A. ten-thousand-dollar throne, representing a combination of ancient Chinese craftsmanship and ultramodern comfort, equipped with special springs, has been built in Japan for the future Emperor’s use.
