GREYMOUTH, December 29.
Fire destroyed the home of Mr Caldwell at Blackball this. <morning. Mrs Caldwell was the only, occupant, anil sh e was aroused by smoke, and escaped in her night attire. Mr Caldwell was on holiday in; Christchurch.
The house, ,a modern building, was destroyed, no contents being saveA: A considerable sum of money was also lost.
The origin of the fire i.s a mystery. Th s insurances are :—House £l5O, furniture £125, both in the Guardian Insurance Office.
