The repairing of the Kokatalii Anglican Church is being taken in hand, and will not be such a large proposition as bad been feared at first. In the meantime, by the parmissicn of the Public Hall commiittee, the services usually held in tile church, will be held in the Public Hall.

Arrested on Wednesday evening at Greymouth, on a warrant from Invercargill, Charles Joseph Butler Wag charged at the Magistrate’s -Court, Greymouth, before Mr F. W. Shallerass, J.P., with disobedience of a '(maintenance order for the support of bis wife, the arrears to December 13 amounting to £7l Is lid. Senior-Sergeant E. Quayle stated that Butler came to th e West Coast to give evidence in a c?se Hokitika, and he hud. hi s return railway ticket to Invercargill.' It was suggested that defendant be remanded to appear at Invercargill on January 4, on his own recognisance of ‘ £25, and that he report daily to the police while he -remains in Greymouth. Mr iShallcra- ss granted the remand,. on the suggested conditions.
