Unpleasant weather;,' with heavy rain during several races, prevailed for the final day-'of the Taranaki J:C. summer meeting. The totalizator receipts to-day were, £6,847, a drop of £2,955 on fhe last year’s total, and for. the two days, a total drop of £3,673. In no race were there more than two dividends, and in two races there was only one. Calamine reared and fell at the banner while lining up for the New Plymouth Handicap, and fractured a;, ho up .in his’hind leg, and had to he destroyed. . Results:— .
