COLLAPSES’ AT SIDE OF ROAD

MASTERTON, December 26

A swagger, named Martin James '•Flannagan, a singe man, 54 years of age. was found dead on the roadside on Whakapuni Hill, fifteen miles from Martinborough, on Sunday afternoon. The evidence at the inquest showed that the deceased, who was carrying a heavy swag‘and a suitcase, had apparently rested on the roadside, and had collapsed and died. The deceased saw active service during tlfe war with the 18th Battalion of the Australian Forces, being a native of Hobart. A verdict of death from heart failure was returned.
