BRISBANE, December 22. In the tennis test match, results today were.: Singles.—Wilde (England) beat Moon (Australia) 7—5, 6—4 ; McGrath beat Perry 3—6, 6—2, 6—3 ; Hopman (Australia) beat Lee (England) 6—2, 3—6, 8-6.

Doubles.—McGrath and Quist beat Hughes and Wilde I—6, 2—6, 6—2, 6—3, 6—4. Australia is now invincible, having won seven rubbers to one, with four to play. fdhhough Moon started with great

clash and appeared to have Wilde’s measure, he later lapsed into errors, frequently netting the easiest shots. Wilde made many remarkable recoveries, and altogether was the more consislentp deliberately glowing the game to force outs by Moon.

Tt was McGrath’s wonderful tenacity that enabled him to prevail over the British champion, who, in the first set, gave the impression that he would •win with straight gets. McGrath was more than matching his backhand, hut Perry had greater strength with his forehand und service. McGrath bit manv winners with hi« sharplv-a ”gled forehand. In the deciding set, Perry appeared to be suffering from the great heat, and he offered little opposition. and there 'was an ’absence of the sustained rallies which had marked their earlier sets.

Hopman and Lee provided stirring tennis.
