Long 'Service.—The Presbyterian General Assembly has awarded to Mr James Park, the long service diploma for over * twenty-five, years’ consecutive service .in the, Sunday School. At the Presbyterian Church last evening the framed diploma was presented to him. Eulogistic reference was made by . Messrs AY. Duncan, W. Eplley, G, AV. Morrish and tlie Rev, J, o. Jamieson.
Kimu Miners’ Association.—The njonthly meeting of the Association was attended by Messrs Hartwigsen, Boyd,. P. Webster,, Restano, A. Jack, Upjohn and J. AYebstei:. It wa s re ported that- Maloney and party bad driven 140 feet during,the past mount, i.tessrs Cashman and T. O’Neil were appointed auditors. Westland Acclimatisation Society.— The following were resent at the last meeting of the committeeDr Teichelmann (chairman), Messrs Evans. Boyd,. Preston, Newman, .King, and Dr Macandrew. It was stated that arrangements were being made to test Lake Kanieri for white-fish. The .Marine Department advised that the sum of £SO had been granted foi stocking the rivers with trout. Ih was decided that Lake Kanieri stream be open for fly fishing only.
