SKIFF UPSET IN RIVER

AUCKLAND, December 20

While Mr B. Graham was exercising in his pair-oared skiff on the Hokianga River early last evening the boat overturned in deep water. The tide was rising and Mr Graham was soon iff difficulties.

A local resident, Mr Percy Burrows, immediately launched his boat and set out for the skiff, which was half-a-mile away. He arrived in time to save both the oarsman and the boat. Mr Graham was in an exhausted condition. As it was almost dark at the time Mr Graham bad a narrow escape.
