The appointment by the GovernorGeneral of a special commission to investigate the promotion and financial methods and the operation of certain companies in the Dominion was announced by the'Minister of Finance, Mr Coates, to-night, The members of the commission are Messrs ff.',-'®.: Barton, S.M., Wellington; Professor H. Belshaw, Auckland; and Mr F. E. Graham, of Christchurch The Commission is expected to take'up its duties about tlie middle of January.
