ARBITRATION

DECISION OF COURT.

(Per Press Association — Copyright.)

•NAPIER, December 20.

An interesting judgment of theCourt of Arbitration holds that employers are liable for compensation where employees are killed or injured by falling debris, outside the premises where they are employed while at tempting to escape during an earthquake. It was decided that a person was acting in the course of his employment in attempting to leave a threatening building. The Court to-day concluded a lengthy sitting in jNhpier, dtiring which it heard a number of earthquake compensation claiips that were brought, following the Privy Council decision.
