The executive of the South Island Motor Union decided to-night to request the Board of- Transport to: -adopt-' the English practice of, issuing.. a license without the necessity for personal application. -It was argued that there should be not. need for a person below the age of 60 years to present himself in -person and that all expense to the, Department could be saved by insisting upon applicant sending a /stamped addressed envelope ffl)r a reply.
