SEDITION CHARGE

WTLLINGTON, December 19,

The Samoan correspondent of the Press Association writes that °n November 28, before Chief Justice Luxford. at the High Court, at Apia, Olaf Frederick Nelson charged with breaches of the Samoan Seditious Organisation regulations. The charges against him are that he (1) Identified himself with the ’Mali seditious organisation; (2) Used his premises for a. meeting held by the Seditions organisation; (3) Attended and took part in a formal gathering of tlie 'Samoans known as a taalolo, in contravention of the maintenance of authority in native affairs ordin'nice: (4) Participated in the activities of, seditious organisation by meeting and associating with members of the Man, and by advising and assisting such members ; (5) Aided, abetted and encouraging the activities of the M a u in letters and articles in the newspaper “Samoan Guardian” commonly known ns the -Mau newspaper; (0) Addressed a meeting at Vaimosa held for the purposes of the seditions organlsa,iin; (7t Had in his possession certain documents and other papers relating to Mali activities. The 'hearing wins fixed for December 18.
