The Australian ' women’s tennis team for a rour 0 f New -Zealand, : arrived by the f Marania; It, comprises Misses N. Lloyd .'(manager);- ]>. Dingle, N. Htll, Valken'burg and L. Bickerton. They will play .at, Whangarei. op Thursday, Auckland, 0n.,, Saturday, spend Christmas'at Rotorua,- and then go to the South Island to compete in the New Zealand -championships at Christchurch. They will pay a Test match at Wellington on January 12 and 13, then appear at Masterton and Palmerston North.
. Miss Lloyd said that . , the side - was the strongest available with the- exception of Joan Hartigan, the Australian champion. It was as strong in. the singles and slightly stronger, in the doubles than the teams which had previously visited! the Dominion. Mjjss Lloyd also said that hard court tennis was fast increasing in popularity.
