COUPLE POISONED
AFTER PARTAKING OF FOOD
CONDITION NOT SERIOUS

AUCKLAND, December 18
As the result of eating cooked tongue, which is thought to have been contaminated, a middle aged couple, Mr and Mrs A. Neithe, of Ghuren Street, Onehunga, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from ptomaine poisoning. The tongue, which had been cooked at home, was eaten at lunch, and while .working in.the garden late in the afternoon, Air Neithe suddenly collapsed with severe pains.
Medical assistance was obtained and he was ordered to tile hospital, but when the ambulance arrived, Mrs Neithe also was suffering from the effects of poison, anil both, husband and wife were taken to the, hospital. Their condition to-night was considered to be not serious.
