BIG DROP IN UNEMPLOYMENT

LONDON, December 15
The Prince of Wales has concluded liis three days’ tour of Yorkshire. In Bradford, which suffered heavily during the severest phase of the depression, he learned with keen satisfaction that the number of local unemployed had fallen from 36,000 in 1931, to fewer than 14,000. At an occupational centre in Morley, the Prince worked a hand loom and was presented with a scarf. Although the Prince’s visit was informal, great crowds gathered to welcome lm.
