A SUCCESSFUL- OPENING
A brilliant spectacle,
The Princess Theatre last night held a Urge and enthusiastic audience for the opening of the three nights season of the New Reveille, arranged by Mr William .Lints ‘in aid of the' funds of the Plunket Society. The entertainment proved very enjoyable and entertaining from the start 'to finish, and there was very little dglay, the items being given with commendable rapidity. The opening scene was a bright one, and ag item followed item the applause thai followed showed that the large audience appreciated the dffort s of -the performers. The Happiness } Boys orchestra supplied the overtures and incidental music, and their bright programme added in no small .measure to the general success. Mr Lints,’ the producer, showed his capabilities in no uncertain manner and the whole - programme went with a swing completeness that left nothing to be desired. A wonderful array of costumes enabled a. complete change for item after item and the bright dresses, aided by clever light and electrical made a fine spectacle, this being specially noticeable in the 'opening and closing scenes. A number'.of Grey mouth artists assisted in the programme and their items were always welcomed, the clever - sketches and quartettes being splendidly given, while Miss Donovan as Soloist in Several ballets made a- decided hit in her numbers. The local were Miss AH& Lynn, who filled in a large programme with distinctive, success, Miss Cora Lynn, whose sweet voice gave much pleasure, Miss Campbell, the possessor of a pleasing voice, and Messrs J. Walker and- C. Wright, who wee all well received. The programme was a 5 fellows:—
