In the League football test England beat Australia at Sainton by 19 to 16, after leading 12 to 9 at half-time. England were attacking, at the finisn of the game, which was a s uecmy fought as the previous tests. Sir Edward Stockton presented the flip to ’Sullivan, the English captain. The match was played to-day in a fog, which affected the attendance. There were only eight thousand present. It was just clear enough for .play. The spectators .across the ground were invisible.
