WASHINGTON, December 16,
The ten thousand ton cruiser ‘Astoria’ .was launched at Puget Sound Navy Yard to-day. For the first time .in thirteen years, a Government craft was christened with champagne. •She is heavily with special anti-aircraft batteries. Her engines have more horse power than battle ships. Her maximum speed is 32.7 knots.
