Sluicing hose and pipe were, granted to J. C. Browne, Duffers, on the. usual conditions. Accounts to the amount of £42 !4s 10d were approved for payment. John Guy wrote -with respect to further work on Taipo track.—Received. Temporary arrangements were not approved, it being decided to first obtain authority single men would be required for; the work,- and’ married meri' cOuld be placed on other track work on application to the County Office. The total gold returned for the fortnight was 21ozs. 17dwts; 15grs. It was reported that during the week Captain Mercer had taken aerial photographs of the Humphreys field to assist in the race survey work. , SUPERVISORS’ REPORT. .T" Supervisor Cooper reported on general inspections made, and in respect to the Bine Spur, several shafts, had been proceeded with. Four bottoflied on gold ; three under way carried gold. The ground was now deeper and encouraging still. Open cuts and shafting showed about 5d per yard. Supervisor Harris at Humphreys end, had to abandon a shaft owing to inflow of water. Open cuts were put in, and gold from two yards sample of the dirt wa® sent in. It was satisfactory. Supervisor McQuilkin, in the Kaniei'i section, reported a cut giving a good prospect with 15 feet of wash, estimated at nine grains to the load. There appeared to be a valuable area (between Stripland and Stonsy Creeks, and was ideal sluicing ground. The gold recovered would be sent in. It was re-solved-the area be further explored; Satisfaction was expressed at the encouraging nature of the prospecting reports. The meeting adjourned at 8.20 till the 13th January,
