TRADE DELEGATION
AUSTRALIAN NEGOTIATIONS
FOR PARTY TO VISIT JAPAN

SYDNEY, December 15
The Federal. Government is contemplating the sending of a goodwill trade mission to Japan, and the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon J. Lyons, has itinted Hon Mr Latham, the ActingPrime Minister, to undertake the trip with a staff of experts.
Sir Charles Kingsford Smith lias offered to pilot the Southern Cross to Tokio with Mr Latham and a group of officials. This offer is now under consideration.

The Japanese Foreign Office is greatly interested in the reported visit of an Australian trade delegation, headed by the Attorney-General, Mr Latham, of which official advice has not yet been received. Such a visit would be welcome in promoting friendly reflations.
