FALSE FIRE ALARM SEQUEL

AUCKLAND, December 14
A narrow escape from serious injury was experienced by the occupants of a light-motor car which was struck broadside o n by the Mount Eden fire engine to-night. The' engine struck a car driven by Laurence Bishop, crushing in one side of the vehicle. Bishop escaped with' minor abrasions, but a passenger, Stanley Thomson,' 28, married, was, admitted to hospital suffering from head njuries. His condition is not serolis. The engine, which was practically undamaged, was proceeding to a false alarm. ••’A
