POSTPONEMENT OF ACTION

AUCKLAND, December 14
Having resolved , by a small majority last month, to restore the ton per cent cut to is labourers, and to abolish the rationing of outside work, the City Council at a special meeting adopted a report by its finance committee postponing action ' indefinitely, in any, case, for the .remainder of the current financial Vo at. ' The finance eomihittoe was , unanimous that the cuts should be restored, ind that rationing should be abolished •is soon as possible.' Whether anything could be done next year it was impossible to say.
