BISHOP OF NELSON

CANON HILLIARD APPOINTED

(Australian Press Association)

SYDNEY, December 14

Advice has been received by Canon V ■ G l . Hilliard, headmaster of Trinity Grammar School, Dulwich Hill, Sydney, that he has been unanimously selected as Bishop of Nelson, New Zealand, in succession to Dr Sadlier. Canon Hilliard, who is regarded as one of the most popular of the Evangelicals in the Anglican Church life in Australia, is a forceful convincing preacher, with a distinct appeal to young people. He stated yesterday that lie had not yet begun to think about the offer from Nelson, owing to being thick in his speech day preparations.
