AUCKLAND, December 13,

Criticism of the British and Foreign Bible Society for the indiscriminate distribution of the Bible was voiced by Bishop Chei’rington in a. sermon in StPeter’s Cathedral, Hamilton.

“I do not believe in throwing the Bible about, and Kdisapproye of a good deal of the work the society i§ doing,” said t’M speaker. v

The Bishop admitted that- the society was doing useful- work by spreading the Gospel in hew lands. It was; however, a great mistake to throw the ißook among ignorant and misguided peoples, and Christians would have to pay for it. The Bible was one of the. race’s most priceless possessions -and should ibo bold sacred.
