Christchurch; December 14

The death occurred at Lewisham Hospital yesterday, -of the Rev. Father Janies Hickson, S.M.,'in his 71st year. He had 'been in failing health for some considerable time., For some yeans he taught in St. Patrick’s College at Wellington, and later he Administrator of the Wellington Archdiocese. Prior to that the late Father Hickson for a number of years was in. charge of the Reefton parish, and was a very popular figure. Be took an interest in sporting activities and often officiated as referee in important matches both at Reefton and other West Coast centres.
