SHEARING RECORD
TARANAKI FARMER’S FEAT.

HAW-ERA, December 14. A world sheep shearing record is claimed by Percy de Marmanche, a
young Pilianxa farmer yesterday, when he (completed with machines the shearing of 412' ewes in ten hours’ actual working time. . The day’s work was done between 5.30- in the morning and 7 o’clock in the evening, breaks being allowed for rest and refreshment.
The sheep were big Romney, and Lincoln cross bred breeding- ewe-s.. The previous world best as far as is known was 408 shorn three years ago by W. Higgins, Waverley.
