CYCLING CONTROL

END OF DISPUTE IN SIGHT.

WELLINGTON, December 13

It was announced to-day by Mr H. I). Bennett, chairman of the New Zealand iCycling Council, that tin* 'Council and League of Wheelmen had signed a ten point agreement-, and the indications were that the long-drawn-out dispute over the control of amateur cycling seemed at last to have reached finality.

The agreement generally provides for the continuance of the present Cycling Council under the new name of the New Zealand Amateur Association, but with a necessary provision for ultimate full and exclusive control by cycling bodies on a democratic* basis. Mr Bennett said complete harmony would be restored when the New Zealand A.A.A. lifted tile ban imposed against cycling events at athletic meetings.
