BULL IN HOUSE

OCCUPANTS CHASED:

MOTHER AND CHILDREN’S SCARE

(Per Press Association Copyright.)

STRATFORD, December 14

A bull from a. mob being driven along a street, charged through an open gate of Mr M, E. Sharrock’s residence and into the house, giving Mrs Sharrock and her three young children a severe fright for-a time. When the bull followed their hasty retreat from room to room, they were in considerable danger. Mr 6 Sharrock showed presence of mind, lowering the children through a window.

The children, aged two, three and four ye.'.rs, scrambled from the back floor in a panic when the bull appeared almost at Their heels and rushed to their mother who was working in the kitchen. The animal halted a moment in the doorway, giving Mi’s Sharrock time to hurry the children into one of the front rooms. The bull followed, snorting and stamping, and the frightened 'Occupants retreated into another room from which there was no other egress. Mrs Sharrock turned to open a window aucl lifted the children to the ground, and then climbed out herself. The animal, possibly, more bewildered than savage, submitted to the drover who managed to take his charge safely out of doors,

Meanwhile the shaken family had taken refuge with a neighbour.
