EVERYBODY’S PICTURES.
One of the most popular .musical comedies of the day, revived time and time again, “The ’Maid' of the Mountains,” has been brought to the screen by and ‘ concludes at the Princess Theatre this (Thursday) evening. At once a genuinely'gorgeous and exquitely funny production, this picture must be highly commended to all filmgoers if only by rbasoii lof its .musical background. Numbers, which we have all come to know aifd love, are here lintrodu-eed in such : a way that none of the picture’s high spirited action is for a moment delayed,, and are rendered to perfection by such talented artistes as Barry Welchman and Nancy Brown, in the starring roles. The rollicking lilt of “Live for Today” sung with an accompaniment of the “ciopping” of horses : hoofs along ‘the high Mountain paSs { ' the introduction of perfect little cameo s illustrative of “A Bachelor Gay” number rendered ,by Harry Welchman • the mirth provoking ditty “Dirty Work,” in which. Albert Burdon is chased by Gus McNaughton and Wallace Lupino through an entire palace, the three of them ending up. by falling into the mbat,» and finally that beautiful number “Lovr e Will Find a Way,” sung superbly,, by Nancy Brown as the “Maid” with’ 1 'all the bewitching charm of o 'the true G ipsy, all go to make this' all-British' colour feat of romance an entertainment to be eeen and seen aga ; ” Good supports.
