WELLINGTON, Dec. 12

A dispute between two men on the Wahine at 8 a.m. to-day ended ifi David Stewart, a watersider, receiving a severe knife wound in the left arm. He was admitted to the the hospital, i Arrested later in the morning, Hubert Frederick Hilton Shepperd, aged 52, a watersider, Lower Hutt, appeared before Mr Stillwell, S.M., this afternoon, charged with assault so as to cause bodily harm. He.was remanded until December 20. Mr Mazengarb, who appeared for accused, said be was spoken of as one of the best men on the waterfront. A dispute had arisen on the "Wahine this morning, and accused had heefi struck on the head, and his opponent had received a wound on the arm with a knife which accused was carrying.
