ILLICIT WHISKY
SOUTHLAND STILL RAIDED. FINE OF £SO IMPOSED (Per Press Association —Copyright). INVERCARGILL, December 10. The largest still yet discovered was found to-day, on a farm in tne Feluidale district. A party under the Collector of Customs to-day carried out a raid oii the farm. lin© still was absolutely complete, and there Was found many gallons of liquid, which has yet to oe analysed.. but which appears to be whisky wash. ' One of the officials remarked that the seizure was “the daddy of them all.” •Fjbr cotnveying 'illicit whisky on wliicli duty had not been paid, Arthur Heywood Bishop, married,, aged 50, was fined by Mr Levvey, S.M., the minimum of £SO . and the liquo'r two five gallon kegs, was confiscated. It was stated in court that the whisky was above the average strength, and was pretty bad with fusel oil.
