With his left arm in a sling, and lps fingers bandaged, Alexander James Chnrton, aged 33, *.labourer, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court before Mr E. D. Mosley, on charges of assaulting his wife, Betty Chnrton, so as to cause bodily harm. He" was remanded to December..-19 to. enable the police to' ; make further inquiries. •An application ...for' bail- was, refused, the police stating ‘'they regarded accused as a dangerous man.
