RISE IN WOOL
AUSTRALIAN PAPER’S REVIEW (Australiian Press Association). SYDNEY. December 9. The “Sydney Morning Herald” weekly wool letter says that the satisfactory demand experienced duiing the ‘simultaneous conduct of auctions in Australia and London ahd other countries is a tribute to the strong marketing position of row material. The values for bulk merino wools submitted at Sydney, show no quotable change, compared with the rates for 'November, but (the better descriptions of fleece wools, and dusty, doubtful and yielding lines were 'irregular being at times five per cent, easier. The fact cannot be overlooked that the value of wool has shown a decidedly rapid recovery and until prices for metals, cotton, butter, wheat and other -products advance arpnedabiy, and thereby hicrease the general purchasing ability the danger exists of the market temporarily exceeding ithe public’s buying power Moderation is essential for the season’s sales to produce .reasonable stability in rates. 'Hie higher cost of wool this season has not trus far given anv disturbing check to the trade in mill products.
