ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET

CHRISTCHURCH, November 29.

On the whole the live stock sale today ait Addington -was Satisfactory. There was a small offering of store sheep. The demand was slightly firmer in all classes. There was a- full yarding of mutton of good quality. The market was firm at. late rates for wethers. Ewes were slightly easier.

Over one thousand fat lambs were penned, the quality being excellent, mostly heavy weights, which showed a slight easing. Prime handy weights had a more keen sale. The freezing schedule was occasionally exceeded. Best heavy lambs sold up to 265. prime handy lambs 20s to 235, medium from 17s.

About the same number of cattle were yarded as at the previous sale. The quality was good in all grades on offer. Best lots maintained recent values, whilst others were a little easier. Heavy weight bullocks made from 20s 6d to 22s per hundred lbs; handy weights 23s to 255; prime medium 21s to 22s 6'd junfinished from Is. Best heifers made 23s to 25s per lOOlbs; prime 22s 6d to 23s 6d; plain fi'otn 18s. Heavy cows sold from 18s to 21s per lOOlbs; prime medium 20s to 22s fid; light from 15s. The highest price for steers was £ll 7s fid; and heavy heifers and cows sold up to £9 2s 6d. There was a heavier entry of fat pigs and the demand was firm in all classes. Porkers increased 5s per head. Baconers were firm at late rates. Porkers sold from 26s fid to 29s fid; heavy 32s 6d to 3fis fid; choppers 30s to £2 11s ; baconers 40s to 47s fid; heavy 50s to 57s fid; extrato £3 6s fid. Store pigs were inclined to ease.
