In the House of Representatives, the assistant Minister of Defence (Air Francis), rep-lying to a question, stated that precautionary measures against gas attacks on Australian cities were being taken by tlie Commonwealth Government, although the committee of military and naval air experts had reported there was not much likelihood of such an attack. However, plans were being prepared which would embrace ambulance and police training in anti-gas measures, and the manufacture of cheap serviceable gas masks and suitable clothing.
