LATE LOCALS
The chairman of the Westland County Council received advice to-day from Okuru stating that Mr W. D. Nolan had commenced the preparation of a landing place at his residence, adjoining the Upper Okuru ferry crossing. Some 18 acres of the , land grounci had been ploughed and cleared of all likely obstruction in the way of, fencing and trees, and a heavy scoop was being employed to make the necessary fillings. As the site i s . alongside of the post and telegraph office, its convenience ■will be appreciated by flyers, who are now compelled to land at Mussel Beach some two miles along the coast, and across the harbour from the township.
