The paper “Figaro” deelai ■*> that Herr Hitler is emulating the German soldier who cries “Kamerad!”, and then uses the machine gun. It adds: “Britain is France’s great hope and ally in the event of war, ’as in 1914.” The paper “La Republique” calmly advocates ascertaining exactly what both sides desire. The “L’Oeuvre” asks: “If both sides desire peace, why should they not confer on the means of achieving it?”

The Paris paper “Le Matin’s” interview with Chancellor Hitler, cabled
this morning, has caused a deep impression in diplomatic and political circles in London. The “Daily Telegraph” says: “Tt is bound to hasten an opening of direct negotiations.”

Newspapers are unanimous in fiercely condemning the “Petit Parisien” publishing alleged secret documents. The T ‘Tageblatt” says the “Petit Parisien’s” One aim is to stifle all desire for understanding, between nations, and to wreck peaceful advances.
The “Voelkische Beobachter” says; “These forgsries are criminal manouvres of a newspaper, owned fey an armaments factory. It is particularly unfortunate that the publication synchronises with Chancellor Hitler’s declaration of peaceful intentions.
