RADIO LICENCES
OVER FIVE MILLION AT HOME (United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.! LONDON, November 23. . The annual review of the British Broadcasting Co. states that '5,654,408 licenses were in force in August, representing a listening public of twenty-five millions. Out of every ten ■shillings fee, only 4s 7d, goes to the Biroadcasting Corporation, as the Post Office takes one shilling and the Treasury four shillings, and income tax five pence. Out of 4s7d, the programmes cost half-a-crown, engineering one shilling, administration one shilling. Australia- will supply Empire Day programmes in 1934, and other Dominions in the 1 following years, in alphabetical order.
