OBITUARY
MR SAMUEL MANNING.
CHRISTCHURCH, November 22. The death occurred at" his home, 17 Holly road, yesterday, of Mr Samuel.. Manning one of the oldest, if not the oldest, bowle r in New Zeaand, and a former Mayor of Christchurch. Although aged 92, Mr Manning had taken an active part in the game up to the end of the last season. He was a well-known ahd popular figure on 7 the bowling greens, not only of New. Zealand, but also of Australia, in/o'* which country he three times repre-i sented the Dominion in matches. He/ had lived in retirement for a number of years, but was previously prominent i n commercial circles in the city 1 , being the founder of Manning’s.. Brewery..
The death look place at Reefton on Thursday of Mrs Harvey, wife of Mr W. Harvey. Deceased was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs James Sara, of Black’s Point, and 50 -years of age. She was a native of Durham, England* arriving in New Zealand' -as a ■ child. She leaves a husband, and son and four brothers. A
