The wool sales opened with 15 to 20 per cent advance 9,625 bales were offered, including 4,550 - bales, from New Zealand, of which approximately 9,101 were sold. There was, a fairly (representative selection, both merinos and cross-breds. There was a crowded attendance and keen general competition, Yorkshire buying top-making merinos, and the hulk of cross-breds. The French and Germans were actively competing for the liner merinos.

Compared with the October closing, all Merinos were fully 15 per cent dearer, cross-breds 20, fine occasionally 25, New Zealand gr.easv crossbred Tunrau 14, and 10i cross-bred lamb slipe gear 19 J..
