yhe Australians defeated London Higlifield by 20 to 5 after leading 10'—2 at half time. The New Zealander, Merritt, once made a great effort along the touch line, but was tackled into touch. On another occasion the New Zealander cam o right across from the opposite wing, and was dragged down in the goal mouth by Gardner, who made a sifxty yards run.
